Manufactured Structures
The built environment has been an inspiration for many photographers since photography commenced; in particular over the course of the twentieth Century many inspirational and innovative photographers developed the capturing of images of buildings to become an important art form. Some focussed on using photography to show buildings at their best, but others, such as Paul Strand and Lewis Baltz made the photographs themselves the art; through careful composition, and consideration of texture and light, they constructed images of the urban landscape to record architecture in another form. This has been the inspiration for my final project on photographing manufactured structures.
