answers to V @ A trip
when I see image on the internet they often context and look different to going to gallery, when you look on the internet the images are often very small and if you don't have a good internet connection you cant often see them. another thing is that in a gallery you can easily work up and down the hall looking at the photos from lots of different angles as well as seeing the normal and proper quietly of the photograph.
The main aspect i noticed when i viewed these image in the gallery is that in Alec's work he did a mix of portraits where the person was maybe holding something and in other photographs of landscapes them where very random. the main aspect i noticed while viewing Richmond's work is that all of his photos are linked and are often of the same thing but in different aspects of the photos subject matter.
What i learned today was all about two different artist and there style of work for example Alec's randomness in his photos i could easily put that into practise and create an interesting response. Another thing learned is that if you put your mind to it you can create some very interesting portrait images.

alec soth is a very famous american photographer who focused on documentary photographer which is really what has made him famous is he brilliant take on documentary photography. what i found when i went to see his exhibition up in central London is that not all of the photos had a particular subject matter that he stuck which is what i like about the artist he is a bit random with his work. But not all of his work is random there was a group in the gallery where it was just portrait photographs but each one linked to the other next to it. in some of his other photography out side of the ones taken in the gallery are more open road as his subject, but brings to it his own unique and modern twist in his other photographs, people also think that though his landscape, portrait and other style of photography and particularly to his portrait which people have said to capture the rawness of human emotion and the tension between our conflicting desires for individualism and community.

Richmond is a photographer who has done allot of antiquarian photography which has made allot of his still life photos from the V & A gallery very interesting. But what i find my self very good is how some of his still life such as the horses head are very creative and must of had allot of work gone into it. Richmond doesn't just to antiquarian photography he also does black-and-white gelatin silver contact prints are made using the negative/positive process invented roughly 170 years ago by Englishman W. H. Fox Talbot. and like all artist he spent allot of time using this technique to create some very interesting images. When doing this the camera he used was a large and portable camera obscura of his own construction. He journeyed outside of his London studio, into the art-historically rich English countryside, producing images that have long been latent in his imagination. The negatives are up to 80 inches wide, resulting in the largest gelatin-silver contact prints ever made.
Rationale Sequence
Evaluation/explanation
what i decided to to with this is chose from my own previous photographs and what decided to do was chose photographs that had some thing broken in it for example the the bottom left is of a old broken generate that has been left to rust and i have decided to do old broken objects and these serous of object show that e.g. the old broken railway weirdly on the beach or the old shed that is slowly rotting away. my overall though of these images is that they all have allot of contrast and each one was taken roughly different places as well as each object a different age in which it was left there e.g. the old broken rail way track which obviously has been there for many years as the area in which is stands is a stony beach. what is good about each of these images as a sequence is that each object has obviously been there for along time. what i don't like about these photographs as a sequence is that not all of them are that well planned out for example the bottom left is of a alley way with a old chair to the left and in my opinion that whole photograph is not very good. What influenced these was the whole idea of broken and lost objects and how it links together with each other. What i find interesting about this sequence is that even though most of the photos in the sequence where taken in the same place which links them together in a different way but what is especially interesting is that the bottom left was not taken in the same place but still links because there are discarded and broken object in the ally way. If I was to do this again instead of just selecting photos from other pages I would take serious of photos ten or fifth teen and which all of them would have something that that links them to the other one so it would be more obvious to the
